2015 Daylily Introductions
'Odell's Odyssey' (Jeffcoat - Jeffcoat P, 2015)
Tetraploid, Dormant, 30", EM-RE, 6", FR, EXT (seedling x seedling)
$75 double fan
The very first flower to bloom on this seedling was a full double, a beautiful vermillion red with that vivid green throat. AWESOME! Then the next bloom was a single. Although it is out of Jimís double seedling crosses, it only throws a few doubles here and there so we have registered it as a single. Beautiful as a single and as a double. ODELLíS ODYSSEY is a large full round 6 inch bright vermillion red with a slight white edge and a vivid green throat. The 30 inch stout scapes support 3 way branching with 15 buds. ODELLíS ODYSSEY is named for our good friend, Clinton Odell Attaway. Several years after naming a daylily to honor Clint, we discovered that his favorite color is red. When this beautiful red seedling bloomed, Clint and Jim selected it for Clint to name. Fragrant and extended bloomer. A good parent for double breeding.

'Donald T. Eaves' (Jeffcoat - Jeffcoat P, 2015)
Tetraploid, Evergreen, 40", EM-RE, 7", FR, EXT (FANCY THIS x HEAVENS TO BETSY)
$75 double fan
Our good friend, Don Eaves, chose this daylily from Jimís selected seedlings as his namesake. DONALD T. EAVES is similar but is quite different too from the daylily named for his beloved late wife, MARGIE McCOY EAVES, and it is from different breeding. The 7 inch flowers are a golden orange with a yellow to olive throat surrounded by a reddish eye. The flower form is basically flat but each of the three petals is different, one will pinch, one side of one will curl back slightly and the other will flat out. It does not meet the criteria for Unusual Form but it is unique. The petals have a lighter midrib. The strong straight 40 inch scapes support four and sometimes five branches with an average of 19 buds.
